In the morning, the participants will visit the at-sea experimental site of the prototype model of the very large floating structure, that is, The Mega-Float, which is located in the shipyard of the Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd., one hour drive to south from Yokohama. Technological Research Association of Mega-Float consisting of Japanese shipbuilders and steelmakers has begun a research project to study the development and use of ultra-large floating structure which would serve as foundation site of various facilities designed to meet public needs.
